Jesus tells us in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus acknowledges that in this world we will have troubles. This past Sunday Pastor Darrel was too ill to be with us for the whole service, the auditorium a/c wasn’t functioning, and high school guidance counselor Jeff Williams with 20 teenagers planning to worship with us was delayed due to having to replace a stolen battery in their bus. We were aware that “all God’s children got troubles”, amen?
However, last Sunday we also saw the authority of Jesus using our troubles to his glory. Jesus also said, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” On Sunday, others stepped in to ministry roles vacated by those ill and/or traveling, the visiting teenagers arrived, and God blessed us with his presence and ministry to our hearts. When I gave people the opportunity to write the names of those they were choosing to forgive and bring their notes to the cross, 19 notes (many with more than one name) were placed on the cross. That is great victory for the body of Christ!! When we forgive others (let go of the debts) God pours out more grace on us. God is restoring people at RFC. I am glad you and I are part of his church.
Sunday I reported we need $500 for advertising that Sheriff Grady Judd would be with us July 7. That $500 need has been supplied.
Danielle and I will be in Lakeland July 4-9. Please pray for God to bring us a buyer for our home in CT and to lead us to a home to rent in Lakeland. Pastor Darrel was prescribed some medication and rest. I spoke with him and Dianne last night. He sounds better and Diane is doing her best to see that he follows the doctor’s instructions.
